I’m sure all students know this but just in case you’ve been in the dark for whatever reason, if you go to any McDonalds and order an Extra Value Meal, you get a choice of a hamburger, cheeseburger or a McFlurry for FREE if you show them your NUS card.

Borough Market is a great food market for those in London or visiting London. Situated at London Bridge, home of the Shard (which is looking more and more magnficent each time I walk past).
There are all sorts of fruit and veg (organic or whatever you’re looking for), food produce (hog meat sandwiches, ostrich burgers etc) and a great little place to shop, eat and visit.
Every Thursday, you can take a copy of the page http://www.london-se1.co.uk/promotions/boroughmarket/ and take it to the Merchandise stall to claim a £5 voucher to use there.
Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream have a fab line up at their summer festival on the 24th and 25th July at Clapham Common. Tickets are £15 per person and best of you, it’s free ice cream all day! To be honest though, after your tenth pot, it gets pretty sickly but still… it’s a great deal and your date will be dead pleased!

I went out for dinner with some friends last night to a really fabulous Japanese grill place. The food was fantastic.. it was like a sushi restaurant except that what was being served is not sushi.. the food comes in the little bite sized portions like sushi comes in but most of the food is grilled with delicious little portions.
Anyway, what was even better was that my friends had a 2-for-1 deal on the place. There were 6 of us and it knocked £60 off the bill. They said that this scheme has been going for a while now.. and is called Taste London. Basically, it’s a card which you sign up to and offers 50% discount in over 800 restaurants. Just to let you know, I have no affiliation to this company .
If you like to go out and sample the wonder choice of restaurants we have in London, this is a no brainer. You will easily make your money back after a couple of meals. If you go to the website, www.tastelondon.co.uk you’ll see that it costs just under £70 a year membership. However, if you enter the promotion code WEARE4, then you’ll get it for £29.95! This is excellent and I recommend it!
